Día mundial de la salud mental y… más despidos / World Mental Health Day and…more layoffs
At Ericsson, the health and well-being of our employees is our number one priority. We believe that when we are physically, financially, socially and emotionally well, we are more likely to thrive and be our best both at work and in our personal life.
World Mental Health Day (October 10) aims to raise awareness of mental health issues across the world, providing an opportunity to discuss what more we can do to make mental health care a priority – and reality – for people worldwide. As part of our MELA Diversity & Inclusion Awareness Month activities, we invite you to join our live panel event: ‘A conversation about workplace stress’.
Pedimos gestos y no palabras.
On Friday we were notified of the delivery of a letter of dismissal to a worker at Torre Suecia.
Today, 10 October, World Mental Health Day, more dismissals are being made and we will keep you informed once we have been officially notified by the company.
The company recently scheduled stress management training as a priority:
At Ericsson, the health and well-being of our employees is our number one priority. We believe that when we are physically, financially, socially and emotionally well, we are more likely to thrive and be our best both at work and in our personal life.
World Mental Health Day (October 10) aims to raise awareness of mental health issues across the world, providing an opportunity to discuss what more we can do to make mental health care a priority – and reality – for people worldwide. If the health and well-being of employees is “the number one priority” for the company then it is clearly an exercise in hypocrisy. To be emotionally well you need job security and a social and outplacement plan to avoid traumatic departures, not just corporate talk. We ask for gestures not words.
The main justification for the dismissal is the need to continue with measures to improve efficiency and reduce costs. Measures that seem to have no limit in Ericsson Spain, which earned 21.4 million in 2022, 64% more than the previous year.
It is very difficult to understand that with this financially healthy scenario, there is this trickle of redundancies that could be 100% relocatable.
STC does not accept that any organizational or productive change at a global level, which is what the company claims, can be used to justify redundancies in Spain and that is why we will continue with the mobilizations and new protest actions.
As always, you can contact an STC representative who will help you in the event of dismissal.
