Has our situation improved since VOICE was introduced?

From September 10 to 22, the VOICE survey will be conducted again, with the aim of identifying problems within the Company and focusing on the most critical issues.

At STC, we ask ourselves several questions: Why does VOICE not analyze the problems that really affect the workforce? Such as job security, remuneration, teleworking, etc. Is there really any point in responding to the survey? Have there been any real and tangible improvements when an indicator has shown negative results?

All of us who make up Ericsson’s workforce are aware firsthand of the real problems that currently exist, and that is where improvements should be sought. There is no need to ask whether we agree with the dismissal policy applied in recent years, without the company having negotiated severance terms with the RLPT through a social plan, or whether a company of this size should continue to operate without a company agreement, as other companies in the sector have.

In addition, there is a perceived lack of a fair and transparent remuneration system, in which salary increases, such as those derived from the metal industry agreement, are not reduced by 75%, especially when the Company could choose not to reduce them, and where the average CPI increases over the last 10 years have been approximately 2.3% per annum on a cumulative basis, resulting in a progressive loss of purchasing power for workers.

In the last year, we have also seen how flexibility in teleworking is being lost and how the Company insists on a return to the office without offering clear justifications, beyond the argument of collaboration. This decision causes obvious harm to the workforce: travel expenses and time, an increase in accidents, a larger carbon footprint… while the Company congratulates itself on being committed to the environment.

These are just some of the areas where the company should focus its improvement efforts, informing the entire workforce in a transparent manner about what it is doing and the progress made. At STC, we ask you to consider whether participating in the Voice has been useful, and if you decide to respond, to do so truthfully, so that those responsible can once again highlight the areas that need to be corrected.
